ROY CURTIS LEE

Roy Curtis Lee, 73, of Switzerland, FL, passed away March 31, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center-South after a valiant fight with cancer.  Born in Dothan, AL, he had resided in the North Florida area since 1964, moving here from Melbourne.  Roy retired after 40 years of service in the railroad industry with CSX / Amtrak in Jacksonville. He was a member of Switzerland Community Church where he was active in the Men’s Ministry and he formerly served as a volunteer fireman with the Switzerland Volunteer Fire Department.  Roy had many interests including: riding motorcycles, farming, diving, hunting and fishing. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend; and will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched.  A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Switzerland Community Church in Saint John’s FL with Pastors Joseph Smith and Wes Slough officiating.  A visitation, beginning at 11:00 a.m., will precede the services.   On Friday, April 6th, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, there will be a visitation and viewing at Evans Skipper Funeral Home Donalsonville, GA. A final Homecoming Memorial Service and interment will be on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at 11:00 am, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 5996 Hebrew Highway, Donalsonville, GA 39845 with Pastor Randy Spicer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Switzerland Community Church Missions Fund, 2179 State Road 13, St. Johns FL 32259 or electronic giving through; https://switzerlandcc.churchcenter.com/giving.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Evelyn Lee, Switzerland, FL ; two sons, Brian Lee (Cheryl), Shawn Lee (Tiffany), of St. Augustine; sisters, Linda Richards, Carolyn Crews, Sandra Allen, all of Auburndale; brothers, Michael Smith, Savannah, GA, Mitchell Smith, Steven Smith, both of Auburndale FL; grandchildren, Tyler (Britney), Justin, Jeremiah, Savannah, and Noah Lee; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Emery Lee.   He was preceded in death by his mother Verdell Smith, and a brother, Allen Smith.
