Ronald Wayne Whitaker, age 77, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 7, 2021 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services for Mr. Whitaker will be held on Saturday morning, Oct. 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Jakin Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Jakin with Rev. Mark Chapman officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service with Bobbie Baldwin, Jr., Steve Miller, Mark Whitaker, Stephen Miller, Michael Whitaker, and Kyle Whitaker serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Whitaker was born in Donalsonville, GA on Feb. 27, 1944 to Sidney Bertrum Whitaker, Jr. and Mary Pauline Newman Whitaker. He was a self-employed painter and custom cabinetry builder, a job at which he was very skilled and retired from in 2015. Mr. Whitaker also was a pilot and loved to fly. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Ronald Wayne Whitaker, Jr. of Mobile, AL; his daughter, Ronni Whitaker Delvalle and her husband David of Hollywood, FL; his grandchildren, Robert Shane Whitaker and his wife Sabrina of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Austin Wayne Whitaker of Jakin, GA; and his great grandchildren, Shayna Whitaker and Rylee Whitaker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Marilyn Anderson of Bainbridge, GA, Holden Whitaker and Joette of Jakin, GA, Debra Whitaker of Jakin, GA, Sidney Whitaker and Cathy of Dothan, AL, and Gloria Miller and Steve of Dothan, AL; his nephew and caretaker, Bobbie Baldwin, Jr. of Jakin, GA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Bertrum Whitaker, Jr. and Mary Pauline Newman Whitaker, as well as his daughter, Teresa Lynn Whitaker, and two brothers, Gerald Randall Whitaker and Earl Rexford Whitaker.
