Coach Richard Allen Prescott, age 72, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday morning, April 22, 2020 at his residence. A celebration of life service will be announced and held at a later date. Coach Prescott was born in Laurel, MS on November 14, 1947 to Curtis Prescott and Irene May Prescott. He served his country in the United States Army and was a teacher and coach at Miller County High School in Colquitt, GA. As a baseball coach he had a saying “His idea of Heaven was the perfect inning”. He is survived by his wife, Cornelia Norman Prescott of Donalsonville, GA; his children, Ashley Prescott of Donalsonville, GA, Debra Musgrove (Tim Cook) of Colquitt, GA, and Crystal Carroll (Matthew) of Pleasanton, TX; and his grandchildren, Jack McNease, Jacob Elmer, Jessica Ollie (Preston), Jerimane Benton, Autumn Benton, Bre Ware, Colby Carroll, and Bailey Carroll. Coach Prescott was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Prescott and Irene May Prescott; a daughter, Ginger Elmer; his brothers, Jim Prescott and Curtis Prescott, III; and his sister, Jane Prescott. Arrangements are entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
