Rheta Helen White Blackburn, age 86, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday evening, Sept. 7, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL.No funeral services are being planned at this time.Mrs. Blackburn was born in Attapulgus, GA on August 21, 1932 to A.E. White and Margaret Avery White. She received her Masters in Education and taught in the Decatur County School System for a number of years. She was proud to be the wife of an Air Force officer, Colonel Robert Melvin Blackburn, whom she married on Sept. 7, 1952 (66 years to the day of her death). Mrs. Blackburn was a model for Bronze Dept. Store in South Dakota, but most importantly she was a great mom who loved her family and spending time with them.Mrs. Blackburn leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Randy Lane Blackburn of Donalsonville, GA; her daughter, Robyn Lynn Blackburn Conway and husband William III (Bill) of Brasstown, NC; and two brothers, Avery White of Bainbridge, GA and Jimmy White of Fayetteville, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert Sneed, Alexis Dean and husband Kyle, and Billy Conway, as well as her great grandchildren Mystaya Sneed, Kyna Sneed, Jackson Sneed, Caleb Dean, Gavin Dean, Hunter Dean, and Gabriel Dean.She was preceded in death by her parents, A.E. White and Margaret Avery White; her husband, Colonel Robert Melvin Blackburn; and two brothers, A.E. White , Jr. and Calvin White.
