RAY TALMADGE MURKERSON

Ray Murkerson, age 72, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. Funeral services for Mr. Murkerson will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Vic Stuart officiating. A private family interment will be held at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery; with Mark Conner, Mickey Conner, Johnny Conner, Shaun Earnest, Keith Dunlap, and Spencer Dunlap serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2020 from 5-7 PM at the chapel. Mr. Murkerson was born in Donalsonville, GA on July 7, 1947 to Arthur James Murkerson and Alma Neal Faircloth Murkerson. He owned and operated Ray Murkerson Construction Company for many years until his retirement. Mr. Murkerson loved hunting and fishing, and he especially enjoyed feeding his redbirds every afternoon. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Pam Murkerson of Donalsonville, GA; his sons, Ted Murkerson of Brandon, MS and Todd Murkerson of Donalsonville, GA; his grandchildren, Chastity Toliver, Haley Murkerson, and Brittany Lackey; his great grandchildren, Madison Whitley, McKenna Whitley, David Toliver, and Hannah Lackey; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Murkerson was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur James Murkerson and Alma Neal Faircloth Murkerson; his brother, A.J. Murkerson; and his sister, Joanne Earnest.
