PEGGY HUDSON SKIPPER

January 4, 1955 — October 5, 2020

Peggy Hudson Skipper, age 65, of Glen Saint Mary, FL passed away Monday evening, October 5, 2020 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Skipper will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Jamie Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Terry Pait, David Bean, Perry Hudson, Bruce Bullock, Ethan Bullock, and Wayne Giddens serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Price, Clint Hudson, Nicholas Hudson, and Kevin Pait. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions in Peggy’s name be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Mrs. Skipper was born in Donalsonville, GA on January 4, 1955 to Braxton and Laverne Bailey Hudson. She was a graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy and Albany State University and was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church. Peggy worked in juvenile justice and family and children services for over 20 years in Georgia. She loved spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Richard Skipper of Glen Saint Mary, FL; her mother, Laverne Hudson of Albany, GA; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carlton and Fay Skipper of Donalsonville, GA; her children, Shay Taliaferro Chapman and husband Lee and Sarah Skipper Benefield and husband Enoch all of Colquitt, GA; her brother, Nick Hudson of Defuniak Springs, FL; her sisters, Ramona Price and husband Rick of Americus, GA and MeChelle Pait and husband Terry of Bainbridge, GA; and her sister-in-law, Pam Bullock and husband Bruce of Donalsonville, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hannah Beth, Brooke, and Emilee Chapman and Grayson Benefield; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Skipper was preceded in death by her father, Braxton Hudson and her sister-in-law, Angie Skipper Hudson.
