Mrs. Freeman was born in Jakin, GA on March 17, 1938, to Gordon Tolar and Nina Pyle Tolar. She had a Masters Degree in Education and retired from the Early County School System after thirty years of teaching. Mrs. Freeman was an active member of Cedar Springs Free Will Baptist Church where she was involved with the Women Active in Christ Group, and she was faithful to write and send out cards to the sick, homebound, and those celebrating birthdays. She had always been active in missions and had been involved in the Gideons Auxiliary. Talking on the phone, catching up with neighbors and friends was a much enjoyed pastime, as well as watching and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Freeman loved teaching and considered every child she taught a part of her family. Sunday lunch with her family was the thing she looked most forward to and enjoyed the most. To Mrs. Freeman, family was everything.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Nena Pearce of Jakin, GA and Mal Freeman (Carolyn) of Blakely, GA and her grandchildren, Chasity Freeman (Ashley), Matthew Freeman (Alyssa), Allison Rathel (Chad), Alana Williams (Jesse), David Freeman (Rachel), and Jerry Pearce (April). Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Llana Hughes, Maddie Freeman, Callan Rathel, Zeppelin Hughes, Ali Freeman, Cole Freeman, Bexley Hughes, Wade Freeman, Pearce Williams, and Walker Williams; as well as her loving angels, Mattie Buggs, Keyshia Dennis, and Keywanna Johnson.
Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Tolar and Nina Pyle Tolar; her husband, Malcom Freeman; and her son-in-law, Alan Pearce.
