PAMELA BROOKINS PETTIS

Pamela Brookins  Pettis, age 76, of Sebring, FL,  passed away Sunday morning, September 17, 2023, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland, FL.

Funeral services for Ms. Pettis will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Oakview Church of God at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Damon Trawick, Jeffrey Trawick, Reggie Trawick, Jeremy Berish, Chase Berish, and Donald Smith serving as active pallbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church.

Ms. Pettis was born in Donalsonville, GA on Nov. 5, 1946, to Hiram Joseph Brookins and Virginia O’Dell Dasinger Brookins.  She was a high school graduate and was retired from her position as a judge’s assistant with the State of Florida Circuit Court.  Ms. Pettis was a member of the Church of God. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Michael Holman and his wife Karrie of Lakeland, FL, Joseph Brookins and his wife Tabitha of Lakeland, FL, and Tracey Peavey; her sisters, Wanda Harden and her husband Ray of Port St. Lucie, FL, Donna Smith of Sebring, FL, and Rhonda Berish of Sebring, FL; and her aunt, Norma Jean Trawick of Iron City, GA.  Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Ms. Pettis was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Virginia O’Dell Brookins.
