Oscar Ted Lanton, age 72, of Jakin, GA passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 22, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Lanton will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Jakin United Methodist Church with Rev. George Masciarelli officiating. Interment will follow in the Jakin Cemetery with Michael Isler, Brandon Isler, Bob Yawn, Jamie Womack, and Terry Lanton serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the church. Mr. Lanton was born in Donalsonville, GA on April 4, 1947 to Toy Lanton and Mary Ruth Williams Lanton. He was a drywall/sheetrock contractor and a member of Jakin United Methodist Church. Mr. Lanton served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a member of the Donalsonville American Legion Post. He leaves to cherish his memory, his stepchildren, Betty Jean Harbin (Archie), Bobbie Roberts, and Jerry Isler (Peggy); his brothers, Larry Lanton and Billy Williams; his step-grandchildren, Brandon Isler, Michael Isler, Fancy Stengell, Pat Roberts, Becky Powell, Melissa Womack, LaTona Williams, Grant Womack, Jamie Womack, and Teresa Toliver; as well as several great and great great grandchildren. Mr. Lanton was preceded in death by his parents, Toy Lanton and Mary Ruth Williams Lanton; his wife, Mary Alice Isler Lanton; his brother, Daniel Lanton; and his sister, Glenda Addis.
