NELLIE JOYCE McCALVIN LYNN

Nellie Joyce McCalvin Lynn, lovingly known as "Grandma Lynn" age 86, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at her home.

 Funeral services for Mrs. Lynn will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral with Rev. Jason Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Hebrew Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Russell Chance, Dustin Chance, Brandon Reese, John Lynn, Johnnie Merritt, and Scott Richardson serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hebrew Freewill Baptist Church 6776 Hebrew Road, Donalsonville, GA 39845 or Georgia Hospice Care Carnation Foundation 187 N. church St. Suite 201 Spartanburg, SC 29306.

 Mrs. Lynn was born in Houston County, AL on July 19, 1938, to Luther Nash McCalvin and Willie Ruth Sanders McCalvin. She was a true farmer’s wife, farming beside her husband, Eddie Lynn, for 69 years. Mrs. Lynn was a devoted wife and life partner for 71 years. A loving mother of 4 and grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, she was a beautiful example of kindness and Christian love. She always found the good in everyone.

 She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Brenda Chance of Donalsonville, GA and Helen Elrod and husband Brian of Columbus, GA; two sons, Dale and Jerry Lynn of Donalsonville, GA; and a sister, Betty Hill and husband Ivey of Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda Reese, Russell Chance, John Lynn, D.J. Lynn, Victoria Elrod, and Michael Elrod; her great grandchildren, Dustin Chance, Brandon Reese, Jessica Norton, Marie Richardson, Johnnie Merritt, Nichole Toliver, Bailee Lynn, Aubrey Lynn, and Avery Lynn; as well as her great great grandchildren, Chance Richardson, Bryon Reese, Reese Norton, Daniel Norton, and Robert Norton.

 Mrs. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Nash McCalvin and Willie Ruth Sanders McCalvin; her husband, Eddie Rufus Lynn; her sisters, Shirley Oder and Elizabeth Keen; and a brother, Joe Glynn McCalvin.
