NEAL RUMBLE

August 10, 1927 — December 30, 2022

Neal Rumble departed this life peacefully at his home at Lake Seminole (Donalsonville), GA on Friday evening, December 30, 2022, surrounded by his children. He was 95 years old. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Nate Lehman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 at the funeral home prior to the service. A graveside memorial will be held in Dahlonega, GA on Saturday at 3 PM at Bethlehem Jones Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 201 E. 3rd Street, Donalsonville, GA 39845 or to The Special Olympics Georgia, 6046 Financial Drive, Norcross, GA 30071, or any charity of your choice. Mr. Rumble was born on August 10, 1927, in Edison, GA to Bert and Lucy Turner Rumble. After graduating from high school in Montezuma, GA Neal enlisted in the Navy. After his service to his country he attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Jones. He subsequently entered the business world and started a successful business in Thomasville GA where he and Betty raised 4 children. Along with his business endeavors he joined the Army Reserves where he rose to rank of Major. A desire for a new career propelled him into vocational education. He earned an advanced degree at Florida State University and subsequently rose to the Presidency of Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins , Ga. Upon retirement to Lake Seminole, Neal was active in community affairs, clubs and projects. He has been a productive and faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church for 26 years. Mr. Rumble is survived by his 4 beloved children; Neal Rumble, Jr. (Charlotte), Anne Rumble, Leah Rumble Grogan, and Bert Rumble; his grandchildren, Ansley Goodman (Nick) and Al Rumble (Autumn); and his great granddaughter, Madison Shirley. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sue Hand Rumble and many cherished cousins, nephews, and nieces as well as special friend, Barbara Blagg of Dothan, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years , Betty Jones Rumble; and two brothers, Theo (Sonny) Rumble and Bert Rumble, Jr. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Agape Care Group for their dedicated service and kindness.
