MICHAEL "MIKE" RUSSELL PEARCE

Michael Russell Pearce, age 62, of Athens, GA and formerly of Donalsonville, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Pearce will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Arnold officiating.  Interment will follow in Jakin Cemetery. Mr. Pearce was born in Bainbridge, GA on December 2, 1956 to Jerry Gaines Pearce and Laura Lane Pearce.  He worked for a number of years as a lineman with Georgia Power and was of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Pearce loved his family, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and talking to those whose paths he came across.  He loved life in general, but he was especially close to and fond of his animals. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Lauren Pearce of Donalsonville, GA and Gaines Pearce of Athens, GA; his grandson, Paul Hornsby of Iron City, GA; as well as his siblings, Alan Pearce and wife Nena of Jakin, GA, Susan Sims and husband BooBoo of Brinson, GA, Clarke Pearce of Jakin, GA, and Todd Pearce of Jakin, GA.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Pearce was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Gaines Pearce and Laura Lane Pearce Easom.
