Shotwell Street Bainbridge, GA 39819.

Mary was born in Iron City, Georgia, on December 11, 1920, to Joel Homer and Annie Leigh Tyler Goodwin. Mary retired after 33 years of service to the farmers of the community as an employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ASCS office, in Donalsonville. She worked in all phases of the farm programs administered by the ASCS at one time or another, and constantly amazed area farmers with her ability to recall the history of every farm in the county, who had owned the farm twenty years earlier, when it changed ownership, etc.

Mary was famous for her baking, and her delicious cakes and cookies were gifts of her warm heart and wonderful friendships and were expressions of her Christian love and concern for others. She enjoyed golfing with her sisters and other ladies of the community. Miss Goodwin became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Donalsonville in 1935. She faithfully attended the Eleanor Chason Sunday School Class and church services along with being an active member of the Wana Liddell Circle until her health no longer allowed her to participate.

She leaves to cherish her memory her nieces Juree Hornsby (Jimmy), Joy Milliner (Larry), Josie Miller and her nephews Joe Hastey (Cecilia), and Walter Spier (M.E.). Also her nieces-in-law, Atherlone Trawick and Sandra Trawick, along with many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Miss Goodwin was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joel Homer Goodwin, Jr, and her sisters, Irene Trawick, Ellen Spier, Martha Ann Hastey, and Emily Miller. Her niece, Mary Ellen Penn and nephews, Max Trawick, Junior Trawick, Richard Trawick, and Dr. Charles Hastey also preceded her in death.

The family would like to thank Seminole Manor for their fourteen years of compassionate care for Aunt Mary and the loving nurses with Georgia Hospice Care of Bainbridge.
