Mary Arlene George DuPriest, age 82, of Jakin, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Jakin United Methodist Church with Rev. George Masciarelli officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made in Mrs. DuPriest’s name to Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, St. Jude’s, or the Shriners. These organizations were very dear to Mrs. DuPriest. Mrs. DuPriest was born in Chester, WV on January 2, 1938 to Hilda Ruth George. She served her country in the Women of Armed Forces of the United States Army and later worked as a clerk for AMACO Fabrics. Mrs. DuPriest was an active member of Jakin United Methodist Church where she served as a lay speaker for several years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, James Dupriest, Jr. and Chindy Mazariegos of Marietta, GA; her daughters, Susan Brookins and her husband Jimmy and Patricia Robinson all of Jakin, GA; her grandchildren, Amanda Van Atta, Tray DuPriest, Anthony Robinson, Chris Brookins, Elaine DuPriest Adler, Jessica Robinson Hurston, Sofia DuPriest; her great grandchildren, Mary Abigail Van Atta, Heaven Robinson, Patrick Van Atta, Chevy Robinson, Alexandra Brookins Lucy Van Atta and Anson DuPriest; her sister, Barbara Green; and her brother, Harry George. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. DuPriest was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda Ruth George; her husband, James I. DuPriest; and her brothers, Pete George and Larry Green.
