Martha Ann Lane McDaniel, age 90, of Iron City, GA passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 19, 2020 at her residence surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Funeral services for Ms. McDaniel will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Brad Hornsby, Larry Lane, Stanley Lane, Hilton Lane, Paul Johnson, and John Clarke serving as casketbearers. Hal Crane and Howard Marlow will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Ms. McDaniel was born on December 24, 1929 in Iron City, GA to Will Lane and Ellen Frances Cross Lane. She worked for Dickies for 20 years and for Shaw Industries for 15 years until she retired. She was also a member of Unity Church of God. The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Martha Ann. She had a passion for gardening. She loved a corn or pea patch and canning was her specialty. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities and will always be known for her kind and compassionate spirit. She is survived by her children; Phillip McDaniel, Beverly McDaniel, Sandra Brocca, and Charlotte Crane; a sister-in-law, Nellie Lane; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ms. McDaniel was preceded in death by her parents, Will Lane and Ellen Frances Cross Lane; her siblings, Benny Lane, Jack Lane, Lucy Hornsby, Jewell Powell, and Atwood Lane; and her granddaughter Rayleen McDaniel.
