Margie Murray

Margie McMullen Murray, age 86, of Jakin, GA passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Murray will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Odom and Rev. Mark Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Jerry Houston, Greg Gaughn, Don Hand, Phillip Buckhalter, Jerry Harrell and Barry Roger serving as pallbearers. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service in the church. Mrs. Murray was born in Early County, GA on December 10, 1935 to Joe Brown McMullen and Lucile Jones McMullen. Mrs. Murray was a housewife and owner and operated a cabin rental business in North Carolina for 18 years. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband William R. “Bill” Murray of Jakin, GA; her son, Roy Murray and his wife Kathy of Jakin, GA; her daughter, Carla Widner and her husband Ricky of Jakin, GA; and a brother-in-law, Marshall Williams. She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Brown McMullen and Lucile Jones McMullen; her brother, John Bryant McMullen; and her sisters. Delma Williams and Mary Gray and her husband Sammy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
