JOHN R. ADAMS

John Riley Adams, Sr., age 66, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Tuesday evening, May 29, 2018 at his residence.   Funeral services for Mr. Adams will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at The First Church of the Nazarene in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Scott Messer and Rev. Eric Boomer officiating.  Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Richard Adams, Brandon Hornsby, Neil Moulton, Barry Adams, Lee Adams, and Sam Adams serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church.   Mr. Adams was born in Jacksonville, FL on Nov. 21, 1951 to Paul Adams, Sr. and Jacqueline Collier Adams.  He served his country in the United States Army and was a mechanic.  Mr. Adams was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene and of aviation groups, AOPA and EAA.  He enjoyed fishing, flying, and racing, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.   He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Gloria Adams of Donalsonville, GA; his mother, Jackie Adams of Donalsonville, GA; his children, John Riley Adams, Jr. and Jennifer of Minnesota, Jake R. Adams (Secili Pybus) of Dothan, AL, and Ace Adams (Wynona) of Hawaii; his step-daughter, Jeana Turner of Alabama; his siblings, Ricky Adams (Isabelle) of Bainbridge, GA, Paul Adams, Jr. (Barbara) of Bainbridge, GA, Rusty Adams (Kitty) of Donalsonville, GA, Babs Adams Karacic of Donalsonville, GA, Mike Adams (Sophie) of Alabam, and Jackie McLendon (Danny) of Iron City, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Adams is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.    Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his father, Paul Adams, Sr.; two brothers, Eddie Adams and Terry Adams; two sisters, Paula Poole and Julie Adams; and a son, David Adams.   Arrangements entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
