John Bradley (J.B.) Clarke, Sr., 92, of Donalsonville, GA passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Donalsonville with Rev. Raymond Guterman and Wade Spooner officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Willis DuVall, Mark Hanna, Ansley Johnson, Clarke Johnson, Ed King, Luke Spooner, Chip Stewart, and Bob Youmans serving as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers are Moore, Clarke, DuVall, Rogers P.C. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Clarke was born on March 16, 1927 to Bradshaw B. Clarke and Rena Bradley Clarke. He served his country in the United State Army and served as a Military Police Guard for War Crime Trials in Tokyo. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a farmer and real estate broker. Mr. Clarke was a member of the Donalsonville Lions Club for 65 years, former Director at Merchants and Farmers Bank, a 20-year representative on the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation and founding member of the Golden Triangle RC&D. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Donalsonville, a former pilot and building contractor and established Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Clarke is survived by his wife of 65 years, Laurie Bush Clarke of Donalsonville, GA; his son, Brad Clarke (Debbie) of Donalsonville, GA; his daughter, Luanne Clarke of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Lauren Clarke Johnson of Destin, FL, John Clarke, and Matt Darley (BreAnna) all of Donalsonville, GA; his great granddaughter, Oliva Reese Johnson; nephew, Dave Roberts, great nephews, Clarke (Emmelyn) Johnson and Ansley (Kimberly) Johnson; and his great-great nieces, Katelyn Johnson, Alyssa Johnson, and Lily Johnson; as well as many great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bradshaw B. Clarke and Rena Bradley Clarke; his sister and brother-in-law, Martha Jane Clarke Roberts (Truett); and his niece, Jane Roberts Johnson.
