JOANNE COWART MORRIS

Joanne Cowart Morris, age 67 of Iron City, Ga passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Donalsonville Hospital.   Funeral services for Mrs. Morris will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Evans Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Wingertsahn and Slade Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, Ga with Kevin Bellflower, Josh Cowart, Zach Morris, David Sumrall, William Nixon, and John Hurley serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Mrs. Morris was born in Miller County, Ga to Aristo Cowart and Eunice Toole Cowart. Mrs. Morris was a nurse for 20 years and retired from Donalsonville Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Donalsonville. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 47 years Randy Morris; her son Shannon Morris (Carrie) of Nederland, TX, her daughter Lisa Morris of Iron City, Ga; her sisters Veda Bellflower of Bainbridge, Ga, Brenda Hunter (Ray), and Gwen Hurley (Buster) of Iron City, Ga; one brother Wayne Cowart (Brenda) of Iron City, Ga. Mrs. Morris is also survived by her grandchildren Shayne Morris, Gage Jones (Meribeth), Bryce Jones, Kaleb Morris, and Brooke Harp. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her parents Aristo Cowart and Eunice Cook; brothers, Jimmy Toole, Stanley Cowart, and Gene Cowart. Her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Thomas and Joyce Morris.
