JIMMY ROE DAWSON

Jimmy Roe Dawson, age 81, of Conyers, GA and formerly of Donalsonville, GA passed away Saturday evening, January 27, 2024 at Donalsonville Hospital Emergency Room.

Graveside services for Mr. Dawson will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Calvary Assembly of God Cemetery in Donalsonville with Rev. Ken Smith and Rev. Jason Steege officiating.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Church of Praise, 3851 Union Church Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281 or St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.   

Mr. Dawson was born in Donalsonville, GA on Nov. 8, 1942, to James Benjamin Dawson and Florence Parks Dawson.  He was a 1960 graduate of Seminole County High School and served in the United States Air Force from November of 1960 until November of 1964.  Mr. Dawson loved his family and enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and traveling.  He was a member of Community Church of Praise of Stockbridge, GA.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Jimmy Dawson and his wife Angela of Covington, GA and Pamela Brown of Social Circle, GA; his grandchildren, Kevin Brown and Shantelle, Ricky Brown and Courtney, Jimmy Brown and Jessica, Christopher Brown and Audrey, Breanne Allen and Tyler, Amber Bozeman and Shane, and Westley Dawson; as well as his great grandchildren, Brylee and Landon Brown, Madison, Jackson, and Reagan Brown, Macailey Brown, Keegan and Kayla Brown, Abbie, Ella, and Grant Allen, and Lainey and Rayna Bozeman.  Also surviving is a special friend, Sandra Jones of Donalsonville, GA.

Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his parents, James Benjamin and Florence Parks Dawson; the mother of his children, Betty Dawson; his second wife, Linda Phillips Dawson; and his siblings.
