JIMMIE MURKERSON BUSH

Jimmie Rebecca Murkerson Bush, age 90, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 4, 2022 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Bush will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Miller County with Kolby Bush, Jake Cox, Brandon Phillips, G Minto, Richard Adams, and Shane Brown serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, May 5, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Bush was born in Blakely, GA on June 26, 1931 to John Clayton Murkerson and Maude Holloway Murkerson. She worked for the Seminole County Board of Education for 34 years before retiring. Mrs. Bush was the lunchroom manager. She loved flower gardening, spending time with her family and cooking for them every week as long as her health allowed. Mrs. Bush attended Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Janice Jones of Donalsonville, GA and Larry Bush and wife Noma of Cedar Springs, GA; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her parents, John Clayton and Maude Holloway Murkerson; her husband of 60 years, Earnest Edward Bush; a son, Don Bush; a brother and numerous sisters; a grandson, Casey Bush; and a great great granddaughter, Amelia Vallescorbo.
