Janice Mims Hornsby, age 88, of Ashford, AL passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 19, 2021 at her residence. Graveside services for Mrs. Hornsby will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Sanders officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church PO Box 4627 Donalsonville, GA or Kindred Hospice 2740 Headland Ave. Dothan, AL 36303. Mrs. Hornsby was born in Dale County, AL on August 2, 1932 to Acie Mims and Hattie Perryman Mims. She was a retired educator, having taught mainly in FL. She touched many lives through her years in education and her witness of her love for her Lord and Savior. She was a joy to everyone who met her. Mrs. Hornsby enjoyed her birds and flowers and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan, AL. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Bobby Hornsby of Ashford, AL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hornsby was preceded in death by her parents, Acie Mims and Hattie Perryman Mims.
