Mr. James Nathanel Tomlinson, age 83, of Hogansville, GA and formerly of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday afternoon, August 19, 2021 at the home of his son in Hogansville. Funeral services for Mr. Tomlinson will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Mt.Olive Baptist Church in Decatur County with Rev. James Scarborough and Rev. Laddie DeRocco officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Roy Odom, Darryl Odom, Del Brown, Chad Inlow, David Tomlinson, and Mitchell Greene serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM at the church. Mr. Tomlinson was born in Decatur County, GA on Nov. 12, 1937 to James Aaron Tomlinson and Ruth Brock Tomlinson. He retired from Roddenberry Pickle Company where he worked as a truck driver. Mr. Tomlinson enjoyed being around people, hunting, and fishing. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Nathan Tomlinson and wife Dolores of Hogansville, GA; his sisters, Janice Brodbeck of Donalsonville, GA and Sandra McMillan and husband Leonard and Palestine Pearce and husband Leonard of Bainbridge, GA; as well as his longtime companion, Susan Lynn of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Dana Tomlinson David Tomlinson, Chad Inlow, and Heather Inlow. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Aaron Tomlinson and Ruth Brock Tomlinson; a brother, Lavon Tomlinson; 2 sons, Ted Tomlinson and Clyve Douglas Tomlinson and 2 sisters, Kathleen Owens and Emily Jean Brown.
