JAMES "JIMMY" E. WILLIAMS

James E. “Jimmy” Williams, age 79, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Sunday evening, March 17, 2024, at his residence.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Olive Grove (Rock Pond) Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Doug Williams, Raymond Holt, Micheal Langston, Kevin Langston, Keith Petty, and Nathan Fuller, serving as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams was born in Bainbridge, GA on July 25, 1944, to Randall Williams and Iris Trawick Williams.   He grew up in Iron City, GA and graduated from Seminole County High School in 1962.  Mr. Williams then attended the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in forestry in 1966.  He loved to be at his farm in Taylor County, where he spent most of his free time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Zach Williams and his wife Megan; his grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Williams; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Mr. Williams is also survived by the mother of his son, Shirley Williams.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Iris and Randall Williams; his brothers, HR Williams and Bennie Williams; and his sister, Avo Williams Crosson.
