JAMES "JIM" SULLIVAN RETHERFORD

James "Jim" Sullivan Retherford, age 66, of Jakin, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 11, 2024, at Donalsonville Hospital.

No services are being planned at this time.

Mr. Retherford was born in Jacksonville, FL on Sept. 20, 1958, to James L. and Berta Holley Retherford.  He graduated from Mosley High School in Panama City, FL in 1976, where he was a member of the ROTC.  Jim worked at Seminole Manor Nursing Home and Donalsonville Hospital as a CNA before becoming part owner/operator of his family's sporting goods business, Retherford's Sporting Goods.  He loved to hike and go tent camping.  Bird watching and reading were among Jim's favorite pasttimes. He  was a member of Jakin Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Jean Adkison Retherford of Jakin, GA; his mother, Berta Retherford of Jakin, GA; as well as his daughter, Holly Widner and her husband Chris of Donalsonville, GA.

Mr. Retherford was preceded in death by his father, James L. Retherford.
