JAMES DONALD COWART

James Donald Cowart, age 79, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday evening, January 17, 2020 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Cowart will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Brinson City Cemetery with David Cowart, Gage Cowart, Jacob Goolsby, Chase Cowart, Brock Cowart, Michael Achord, and Ben Perry serving as active pallbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Cowart was born on March 27, 1940 in Early County, GA to the late D.B. Cowart and Mary Marie Sheffield Cowart.  He served his country in the United States Army as a pilot and retired with the rank of  Lt. Colonel. Mr. Cowart was also an Army ROTC instructor and real estate broker.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Barbara Cowart; his children, Cary Cowart (Kathy), Debbie Goolsby (Blake), and Michael Cowart; his brother, Joe Cowart and Debbie; and his grandchildren, David James Cowart (Willow), Jacquelyn Perry (Ben), Lauren Achord (Michael), Gage Cowart (Brit), Jacob Goolsby, Chase Cowart, and Brock Cowart; as well as his great grandchildren, Elijah, Elias, Isla, Theodore, and James.  Mr. Cowart was preceded in death by his parents, D.B. Cowart and Mary Marie Sheffield Cowart and his brother, Terry Cowart.
