Herman C. (Bo) Lynn, 95, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Seven Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. He formerly lived in Folsom, Pennsylvania. He was born in Donalsonville, Georgia on December 5, 1923, the son of Clarence and Ruth Easom Lynn. Surviving are his children, Edward (Jane) of Pawling, New York, Janice (Barry) Adam of Duvall, Washington and Robert (Mary Ann) of Independence, West Virginia, and Bo’s grandchildren David, Peter, Christina, Brook, Reed, Lily and Evan. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Of special note are his nephew John (Joan) Smith of Quincy, Florida and his niece Kim Watford of Tallahassee, who were especially close to him during his twenty-five years in Tallahassee. Bo Lynn was married on June 28, 1945 to Edna Mae Flannery in Donalsonville, Georgia, whom he met at a USO dance in Philadelphia. His wife predeceased him in 1992, after which he move to Tallahassee to live with one of his four sisters, Gladys Smith, who died on May 9, 2017. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy for six years. He served on the USS Washington during its major engagement in the second battle of Guadalcanal, in which the USS Washington destroyed the Japanese Battleship Kirishima. He was awarded numerous medals for his war service. He worked for 42 years as a pressman and foreman at the William J. Dornan printing company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bo Lynn was a loving and giving husband, father and grandfather. His practical and common-sense approach to life was admired by his family, friends and colleagues.
