EVELYN MIKELL SMITH

Evelyn Mikell Smith, age 75, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Sunday afternoon, August 29, 2021 at Donalsonville Hospital ER. Graveside services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Wednesday morning, Sept. 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Herman Enfinger officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County, GA on July 27, 1946 to Aeolus Mikell and Rogene Sanders Mikell. She graduated from Screven High School in 1964 and received her clinical laboratory technician degree in Ashville, NC in 1967. After receiving her degree, she moved to Donalsonville for her first job at Donalsonville Hospital. She loved driving her Mustang, of which she had several over the years and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially going out to eat. Mrs. Evelyn was especially fond of her puppy, Tripp, who kept her company. She leaves to cherish her memory, her step-sister, Beth Rogers and her husband Danny and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Aeolus Mikell and Rogene Sanders Mikell; her step-mother, Juanita Deal Howard Mikell; her husband, Travis Smith, and her step-brother, William Howard.
