ETHEL CAROL BRIMLOW RATHEL

Carol Rathel, age 85, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday afternoon, Dec. 9, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Rathel will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Wingertsahn and Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Rathel was born in Midland City, AL on Feb. 27, 1936 to Bernice and Bessie Lee Brimlow. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Federal Government for several years. Mrs. Rathel was a Girl Scout leader for a number of years and had a deep love for flowers and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Donalsonville where she was involved with the Merry Makers and a member of the Senior Adult Class. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Mark Rathel and his wife Angie of Westville, FL; her daughter, Vicki Rathel of Donalsonville, GA; and her brother, Paul Brimlow and his wife Clara of Cheney, WA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David Rathel and his wife April of Los Angeles, CA and Steven Rathel and his wife Megan of Freeport, FL; her great grandchildren, Mackenzie Rathel, Harper Rathel, and Sophia Rathel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rathel was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Bessie Lee Brimlow; her husband, Carl Rathel; and her brother, Coleman Brimlow.
