Dorothy Ellen Aligood

Dorothy Ellen Murray Aligood, age 90, of Iron City, GA passed away Sunday morning, May 30, 2021 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, GA. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Williams officiating. Mrs. Aligood was born in Faceville, GA on December 10, 1930 to William Edward Murray and Eda Mae Johnson Murray. Mrs. Aligood was a homemaker and a member of the Home Demonstration Club, the Rual Letter Carrier Auxiliary, and the Iron City Ladies Club.. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Roger Aligood of Iron City, GA and Doug Aligood and his wife Dale of Kissimmee, FL; daughter-in-law Denise Aligood of St. Marys, GA; her sister, Vera Poitevint. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis (Brian), Meredith Barber, Brian Aligood (Ashley), Lacey Aligood Ciejek (Justin), Caleb Aligood (Heather) and Kyle Aligood (Marketa) and eleven great grandchildren, Jake Lewis, Josh Lewis, Jackson Lewis, Maci Barber, Madelyn Barber, Tate Barber, James Aligood, Evelyn Aligood, Landon Aligood, Charley Aligood, and Luke Aligood. Mrs. Aligood was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Murray and Eda Mae Johnson Murray; her husband, James Walter Aligood; her son, Joe Aligood; and her siblings, Dasiy Sharon, Edward Murray, Rufus Murray, Bryant Murray, and Lela Ward. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
