DAVID LYNWOOD McLENDON

David Lynwood McLendon, age 82, of Iron City, GA passed away Tuesday evening, March 12, 2019 at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mr. McLendon will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Arnold officiating.  Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Justin Kelly, Dustin Peak, Travis McLendon, Zach McLendon, Mark Whittaker, and Jeff Braswell serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Mr. McLendon was born in Decatur County, GA on August 3, 1936 to Joe Tom McLendon and Rebecca Pauline Loyless McLendon.  He was a welder and retired from GA Pacific Plywood Mill.  Mr. McLendon loved gardening and fishing and spending time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lula McLendon of Iron City, GA; his sons, Irving McLendon and wife Sheila, Danny Ray McLendon and wife Jackie, and Kenneth Wayne McLendon all of Iron City, GA; his sisters, Dorothy Martin of Albany, GA, Patricia Hughes and husband Frank of Fort Gaines, GA, and Brenda Wilson and husband David of Fort Gaines, GA; and his brothers, Carol McLendon and wife Irene of Bainbridge, GA and Hinton McLendon and wife Reba of Albany, GA.  Mr. McLendon is also survived by his grandchildren, Hope McLendon, David Lee McLendon, Kelli McLendon, Kendyl Peak, Rachel Kelly, and Samantha McLendon; as well as his great grandchildren, Dallon Peak, Isaline Peak, Harrison Kelly, Granger Peak, and Greydon Kelly. Mr. McLendon was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Tom McLendon and Rebecca Pauline Loyless McLendon as well as several siblings.
