DANNY JOHNSON

Danny Johnson, age 77, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 15, 2024, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Powell officiating.  The services will conclude in the chapel, however interment will be at Friendship Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.  The family will be receiving friends at the Mims' Barn, 7019 River Road, Donalsonville, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made in his name to Seminole County Warpath on Cancer c/o Jan Taylor, 200 W. 10th Street, Donalsonville, GA 39845 or to the Seminole County Athletic Booster Club (SCABC) PO Box 4724 Donalsonville, GA 39845.  

Mr. Johnson was born in Donalsonville, GA on Feb. 1, 1947, to Milton and Esmerelda Alday Johnson.  He was a graduate of Seminole County High School and worked as a lime kiln operator for Georgia Pacific until his retirement.  Mr. Johnson loved watching the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, as well as watching westerns on TV.  Hunting and fishing and watching wildlife in their habitat were some of his favorite pasttimes.  He enjoyed cooking and being with family; however, he will probably best be remembered as a faithful supporter of all Seminole County athletic events.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Elaine Houston Johnson of Donalsonville, GA; his children, Stephanie Mims and husband Greg of Donalsonville, GA and Truette Johnson and wife Jill of Donalsonville, GA; and his sisters, Dianne Trawick of Iron City, GA and Kathy Bell and husband Ty of Donalsonville, GA. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Will Mims, Katibeth Wise and husband Tyler, Jillian Johnson, and Addison Johnson, as well as his much loved fur babies.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Esmerelda Alday Johnson; his brother, Bo Johnson; and a daughter, Rachel Johnson.
