Dale Ramthun

Dale Daniel Ramthun, age 76, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the residence of Richard & Sheila Willams. Funeral services for Mr. Ramthun will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Ron McCaskill and Rev. Gary Walker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the Funeral home. The service will be live steamed on the Evans-Skipper Funeral Home Facebook page for any family and friends not able to attend the service. Dale was born in Tomahawk, WI on January 13, 1946 to Daniel Carl Ramthun and Marie (Buhse) Ramthun. He graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1964. He then graduated from Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire in 1970, after serving two years with the Texas National Guard. His entire career was spent in the corrugated packaging industry for 35 years. He served in various Human Resource management positions with Owens-Illinois/Nekoosa Packaging in Orange, TX; Tomahawk, WI; Valdosta, GA; Chicago, IL; Minden, LA and Toledo, OH. In 1989 he became Production Mgr in Waxahachie, TX. He then joined Gaylord Container as General Manager of their Monroe, LA bag plant and Bogalusa, LA box plant. In 2001 he joined National Packaging Solutions Group in New Orleans, LA as President of their Gulf Coast Division. In his retirement years he started Packaging Solutions and Imports, LLC with his nephew, Cody Ramthun. He also served on the Donalsonville/Seminole County Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Board. Last fall he opened the Naked Minnow Bait & Tackle store at Trails End Resort, Donalsonville, GA. In recent years Dale enjoyed traveling, taking care of his precious dogs and spending time with friends at the Trails End Resort. He was a member of the Reynolds Chapel UMC Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Christofer Lee Ramthun of Mandeville, LA; his step- children, Taylor Jones of Italy (U.S. Army) and Madison Jones of Columbia, MO; his brother, Dennis Ramthun (Susan) of Tomahawk, WI; his sister Diane Ramthun (Howard Goldman) of Middleton, WI; his sister-in-laws, Sheila Durden Williams (Richard) and Jan Durden, both of Donalsonville, GA; his brother-in-law, Leon Durden (Deborah) of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christofer Michael Ramthum and Mia Jones. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna Durden Ramthun and his wife Kimberly Glass Jones Ramthun. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
