Mr. Curtis Edward Whittaker, age 66, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Monday afternoon, March 29, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Whittaker will be held on Thursday afternoon, April 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Walden, Rev. Pete Tufts, and Rev. Jordan Arline officiating. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Austin Lambert, Nathan Lisenby, Doug Smith, Josh Gross, Casey Gross, and Michael Odom serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Jernigan, Gene Horn, Ronnie Joe Shiver, and Max Kelley. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Whittaker was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 27, 1954 to Curtis and Jeanette Murkerison Whittaker. He worked as a crane operator for Georgia Pacific Paper Mill for many years. His passion and hobby was building trucks from nothing to new. Mr. Whittaker leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Yvonne Whittaker of Donalsonville, GA; his children, Mark Whittaker (Jennifer), Chris Whittaker (Faye), and Amanda Day (Michael) all of Donalsonville, GA; two sisters, Stella Agusti and Janice Smith; as well as his grandchildren, Chelsea Whittaker, Austin Lambert, Katina Womble, Haley Whittaker, and Amelia Odom; and great grandchild Kreed Godwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Jeanette Murkerison Whittaker.
