We regret to announce the passing of Ms. Claudette Herring Brookins of Donalsonville, GA who passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 22, 2024, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home.

 Funeral services for Ms. Brookins will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville, GA with the Rev. Mylan Brookins, Rev. James Scarborough, and Rev. John Nunes officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakview Cemetery with Matthew Brookins, Theron Ginn, Johnny Herring, Dr. Dave Herring, Jeff Trawick, and Reggie Trawick serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Oakview Church of God, 5317 Harrell-Moye Road, Donalsonville, GA 39845.

 Ms. Brookins was born in Donalsonville, GA to the late Garvice and Belle Regan Herring. She was a receptionist for a number of years with Evans-Skipper Funeral Home and a retired Executive Secretary from Georgia-Pacific at Cedar Springs, GA after 27 ½ years of service. She was a faithful member of the Oakview Church of God, where she had served as the Sanctuary Choir pianist for approximately fifty years. Granny B, as she was affectionately known, loved her church, her family, music, working in her yards, and was an avid reader.

 She leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons, Rev. Mylan Brookins and his wife Kathy of Donalsonville, GA and Anthony Brookins of Murphy, NC; her grandchildren, Matthew Brookins and his wife Whitney of Calhoun, GA, Kristin Worsley and her husband Ryan of Sugar Grove, IL, Amanda Pumphrey and her husband Nick of Kansas, Allison Brookins of Murphy, NC, and Leighton Brookins and his wife Colin of Donalsonville, GA; as well as five great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn Ginn of Royston, GA and Deborah Graham of Hiawassee, GA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 Ms. Brookins was preceded in death by her parents, Garvice and Belle Regan Herring;  two brothers, Louie Herring and Harold Herring; the father of her children, Sam Brookins; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Brookins.
