CHARLOTTE HAWKINS ROBERTS

Charlotte Hawkins Roberts, age 73, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Roberts will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Rev. Gary Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Matthew Brookins, Jarod Fulford, Jad Deal, Preston Deal, Shane Phillips, and Trey Phillips serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of First State Bank and Members of the Seminole County Young Farmers. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 8, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 3312 Northside Drive Suite 140-A Macon, GA. Mrs. Roberts was born in Donalsonville, GA on November 12, 1946 to Walton Jackson Hawkins and Mary Ola Bush Hawkins. She was a member of Oakview Church of God as well as an honorary member of the Seminole County Young Farmers Association. Mrs. Roberts had been involved in the banking industry of Seminole County for many years, having worked at Merchants and Farmers Bank, Commercial State Bank and for the past 27 years at First State Bank. She was actively involved in all activities that involved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Roberts was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sheryl Phillips (Les) of Donalsonville, GA, Carol Houston of Donalsonville, GA, Brandi Deal (Stan) of Donalsonville, GA, John Phillip Spooner, Jr. (Tonya Jennings) of Donalsonville, GA, and Brad Roberts of Dothan, AL; her grandchildren, Trey Phillips, Shane Phillips, Sierra Houston, Carson Deal, Jad Deal, Ruby Deal, Preston Deal, Will Roberts, and Collin Roberts; and a great grandchild, Melena Phillips. Also surviving are her sisters, Glenda Howard (Dick) of Jakin, GA and Debbie Brookins (Mylan) of Monroe, GA; her nephews, Scott Howard and Matthew Brookins (Whitney) and her niece, Kristin Brookins Worsley (Ryan). Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Walton and Mary Ola Hawkins; her husband, Doyle Roberts; her grandson, C.J. Polk; and her brother-in-law, Jim Spooner.
