CHARLES A. PICKREN

Mr. Charles A. Pickren, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Pickren will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Spring Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brian Hatchett officiating.  Interment will follow in Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with John Lott, George Honeywell, Jimmy Kimmens, Bryant Hatcher, and Ronnie Reeves serving as active pallbearers.  Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM. Mr. Pickren was born in Miller County, GA on March 15, 1931 to Pryor Lewis Pickren and Chloe Bush Pickren.  He was a cattle farmer for many years.  Mr. Pickren was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dorothy Miller Pickren; his sons, Billy Charles Pickren, Jackie Lynn Pickren, Robert Lewis Pickren, and Jessie Pryor Pickren; his daughters, Brenda Smith, Gloria Pickren, and Claudia E. Pickren; his brothers, Royce Pickren and John Pickren; and his sisters, Margaret Smith, Alene Davis, and Caroly Bean; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Pickren was preceded in death by his parents, Pryor Lewis Pickren and Chloe Bush Pickren; a son, Charles A. Pickren, Jr.; and a brother, Vernon Pickren.
