CATHI YVONNE FALLIN

July 30, 1955 — September 12, 2024

KINSTON

Cathi Yvonne Fallin, a resident of Kinston, AL, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Donaldsonville, GA, at the home of her good friend Valerie Herring, where she was staying while seeking medical treatment.

Cathi was born in LaGrange, GA, on July 30, 1955. She grew up in Fort Walton Beach, FL (FWB), and graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1973. Cathi was a talented artist and loved cats.

She began her professional career as a Drafter/Designer and became a highly respected Computer Engineer. Employers included Bendix Corporation in Jacksonville, FL; Pratt Whitney in Palm Beach, FL, and East Hartford, CT; Sverdrup Corporation in FWB; and Tybrin Corporation at Eglin AFB, FL. While working for Tybrin Corporation from 1993 to 2001, she suffered an injury to her neck, from which she never recovered. She developed many health issues and endured much pain for the last 23 years.

Cathi was predeceased by her father Ralph D. Fallin of FWB, and biological mother Marilyn Fallin Geoghagan of Kinston, AL, whom she cared for several years during her illness, at the expense of Cathi's own health.

Cathi is survived by brother Wade Fallin of Jacksonville, FL; sister Cindy Fallin Pergrim and her husband Jerry, of FWB; half-sister Dr. Dani Fallin Herfel and her husband Chris of Atlanta, GA; step-mother Barbara Fallin of FWB; nephews Cory and Evan Pergrim of FWB, Tommi Fallin of Jacksonville, FL, and Bryce and Kellen Herfel of Atlanta, GA; nieces Jenni Jaress and Vikki Thompson and husband Robert all of Baltimore, MD; and "adopted" sisters Jeanne Kaylor Laidlow of WV and Valerie Herring of Donaldsonville, GA.

A private service for family and close friends will be conducted at First United Methodist Church in FWB.
