Carolyn Marie Cox, age 71, of Colquitt, GA passed away Sunday afternoon, March 14, 2021 at Bainbridge Health and Rehab in Bainbridge, GA. Funeral services for Ms. Cox will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM EST in Magnolia Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Midland City, AL with Bradd Cox, Devon Cox, Mike Cox, Lee Cox, Kollin Cox, and Trystan Abernathy serving as active pallbearers. Derek Cox will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Seminole County Warpath on Cancer c/o Jan Taylor 200 W. 10th Street Donalsonville, GA 39845. Ms. Cox was born in Donalsonville, GA on Feb. 14, 1950 to Alto and Nellie Ruth Medley Cox. She was owner/manager of Easom’s Grocery and Meats and was awarded numerous softball trophies for over 12 years of playing and coaching the game she loved. Ms. Cox was of the Baptist faith. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers, William Earl Cox and wife Amie of Sugar Hill, GA and Kenneth Warren Cox and wife Lynn of McDonough, GA, as well as close first cousins, Billy Randall Tedder and wife Florine of Colquitt, GA and Jerry Allen Sasnett and wife Lora Ann of Blakely, GA. Ms. Cox was preceded in death by her parents, Alto and Nellie Ruth Medley Cox; an infant sister, Betty Francis Cox; and two infant brothers, Gerald Wayne Cox and Tex Autry Cox. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
