Bruce Elmore

Mr. Bruce Elmore, age 82, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at his daughter’s home in Dothan, AL.

Funeral services for Mr. Elmore will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Chaple of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow in Thursby Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with Christopher Elmore, Bryan Lingo, Buddy Reed, Tim Elmore, Chandler Hinton, and Beary Bullock serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

Mr. Elmore was born on March 8, 1940 to James O. Elmore and Robbie C. Byrd.  He served in the Alabama National Guard and was a farmer. He was a member of the former Calvary Assembly of God Church and enjoyed working and doing things with his church. He was an avid fisherman and loved bass tournaments.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Sonya Ard and her husband Bruce of Dothan, AL, Bruce Paul Elmore and his wife Sonja of Ariton, AL, and Tammy Lynn Brown and her husband Chuck of Dothan, AL; his brothers, Charles Elmore and his wife Flora of Donalsonville, GA and Ronnie Joe Elmore of Echo, AL; his sister, Nina Sue Brown of Tunnel Hill, GA; his grandchildren, Ashley Reed of Webb, AL, Bryan Lingo of Dothan, AL, Christopher Elmore of Ozark, AL, Daniella Heming of GA, Samantha Allison Elmore of Ariton, AL, and Astina Brooke Porteus of KY. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

Mr. Elmore was preceded in death by his parents, James O. Elmore and Robbie C. Byrd; his brothers, Riley Elmore, Donald Elmore and Harrell Elmore; and his sisters-in-law, Wanda Elmore, Myernette Elmore, Martha Elmore, Betty Elmore, and Louise Elmore.
