Branda Gee Trawick, Jr was born on May 17, 1942 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Brandy Gee Trawick and Irene Jewel Goodwin Trawick. He was affectionately known to most as Junior or Slick. He was a 1960 graduate of Seminole County High School. After graduation, he attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia for 2 years and then returned to Seminole County as one of the largest hog farmers in the area. On November 4, 1968 he married Atherlone Hornsby and together they had 3 children. He continued his career as a farmer becoming a partner in Four Oaks Farm and later the sole-proprietor of the farm until he retired from farming in 2017. He was a big supporter of the county 4-H and FFA programs and was instrumental in reviving the county steer show in the 1980s. He was involved in showing cattle for 52 years – from his time of showing cattle himself to later becoming a mentor and guide for his own children and grandchildren and many other local youth. He was an avid outdoorsman from his love of farming to his love of hunting and fishing he spent most of his time involved in these activities and passed on this interest to his family. When he was not outdoors he enjoyed watching westerns, football and the weather channel on television. His love for music is only surpassed by his love of dancing with the love of his life. He loved to laugh, he worked hard, he was a devoted father and he was our mother’s whole world. He leaves a void in each of our hearts that will never be filled. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Atherlone Hornsby Trawick of Iron City, GA; his children, Yancy Trawick and wife Eve of Iron City, GA, Geeja Mims and husband Clent of Donalsonville, GA, and Brandi Chance and husband Bryan of Iron City, GA; his grandchildren, Erin Courts and husband Clint, Payson Trawick and fiancé Konner Gordon, Carter Ross, Daryn Trawick, Rand Mims, Arysen Trawick, and Klaire Mims; and great grandson, Ches Courts; as well as his sister, Juree Hornsby and husband Jimmy of Donalsonville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Trawick was preceded in death by his parents, Brandy Gee Trawick and Irene Jewel Goodwin Trawick; his brothers, Max Trawick and Richard Trawick; and his sister, Mary Ellen Penn.
