BILLY WADE LEWIS

Billy Wade Lewis, age 84, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Lewis will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Pastor James Allen Lewis officiating.  Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Larry Harrell, Brian Harrell, Grant Harrell, Tyrone Johnson, Brandon Harrell, and Bryce Pitts serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Mr. Lewis was born in Midland City, Al to the late Lonnie "Gade" and Mahala Vickers Lewis in 1935. Mr. Lewis graduated from SCHS in 1955 and then attended Georgia Southwestern Technical College in Americus. Mr. Lewis won the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District Award in 2000. In the following year, he won the Goodyear National Association of Conservation Districts Award and was a member of the Georgia Money Maker Peanut Club for several years.  Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Lewis of Donalsonville Ga, his son Kevin (Cindy) Lewis, three daughters; Gina (Durall) Pitts, Michelle Berry, and Shawn (Greg) Whittaker. Mr. Lewis is also survived by several grandchildren; Blake Pitts, Bryce (Brittany) Pitts, Melissa Berry, Michael (Christi) Berry, Mary Jo Berry, Camille Whittaker, Zane Whittaker, and Charity Lewis Young (Brandon). He is survived by 8 great grandchildren.
