BILLY JOE ADAMS

Billy Joe Adams, age 74, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 16, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mr. Adams will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Merritt officiating.  Interment will follow in Hebrew Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Jody Ridlehoover, Bob Ausley, Charles Harrell, Bobby Harrell, Rollin Rathel, and Joe Cook serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Mr. Adams was born in Blakely, GA on January 10, 1944 to Joseph Franklin Adams and Emmye Byrd Adams.  He served his country in the United States Army and was retired as a bus driver from the Miller County Board of Education.  He was a member of the Donalsonville Lions Club and Hebrew Freewill Baptist Church.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda Adams; his son, Bert Adams (Shannon); and his daughter, Lynn Adams Cofty all of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amber Posey (Ryan), Alyson Burch, Katie Cofty, and Cleve Cofty; and his sisters, Maxine Williams (Gordon) of Arlington, GA and Charlotte Harrell (James) of Panama City, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Franklin Adams and Emmye Byrd Adams; his sister, JoAnn Morris; and his daughter, Angie Adams Burch.
