Amy Janine McCormick, age 59, of Ideal, GA and formerly of Iron City, GA, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Miona Geriatrics and Dementia Center in Ideal. Funeral services for Ms. McCormick will be held on Tuesday morning, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Rollin Rathel officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Greg Gibson, Brett Roberts, Leon McCormick, Tyler Waller, Garlin Evans, and Stanley Fiveash serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Amy was born in Miami, FL on Sept. 19, 1961 to Betty Ann Roberts. She graduated from Seminole County High School and was a member of Jakin Freewill Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Leon McCormick and his wife Joanna of Cartersville, GA; her step-sisters, April Simon and husband Robbie of Fitzgerald, GA and Elisha Chason of Moultrie, GA; her step-brother, Shannon Dickerson and his wife Janet of Moultrie, GA; her aunt, Alice Morris of Dothan, AL; and her uncle, Raymond Roberts and his wife Sue of Sheridan, IN. Also surviving are nieces, Katie McCormick, Courtney Graves, and Brittney Graves; a nephew, Billy Graves; and several cousins. Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Felton “PeeWee” Dickerson and Betty Ann McCormick Dickerson; as well as her grandparents, John B. and Jessie Edna Roberts.
