William Preston Norris

We regret to announce the passing of William Preston Norris, age 81, of Pensacola, FL formerly of Iron City, GA who passed away January 26, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church in Iron City, GA. with Marshall Norris and Thad Norris speaking. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Jesup High School and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1948 with a BS in Fine Arts. He worked in the Special Services Division of Civil Service and was also in the US Navy. He is survived by one brother, David T. Norris and his wife Kara of Jesup, GA and one sister, Elaine Jenkins and her husband Ernest of Pensacola, FL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Pallbearers will be Preston Digman, Ernest Jenkins, Dooley Powell, Larry Harrell, Charles Glisson and Larry Byrd. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
