We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Sara Carlene Ard, age 63, of Iron City, GA, who passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical in Dothan, AL. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2020, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral in Donalsonville with Dr. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt. GA Visitation will be held.Monday, November 1, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Ard was born in Forsyth, GA on December 26, 1946 to the late Carlton and Kathleen Hughes Porch. She was of the Methodist faith; a Registered Nurse and will be remembered as working at the Donalsonville Hospital for many years. She is survived by her husband Larry Ard of Iron City, GA; three sons, Shane Brown and his wife Kim of Cedar Springs, GA; Gary Ard of Sea Grove, FL: Steve Ard and his wife Samantha of Colquitt, GA; one daughter, Kathy Lopez and her husband Pete of Euless, TX and one brother, Carlton “Buzz” Porch. She was also survived by ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Kathleen Hughey Porch. Active casketbearers will be Roger Lane, Brad Hornsby, Buddy Roberts, Roger Roberts, L. J. Miller and Marcell Sheffield. Honorary casketbearers will be employees of the Donalsonville Hospital. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to New Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, 265 Grimsley Rd. Colquitt, GA 39837.
