Adelle Merritt Phillips

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Adelle Merritt Phillips, age 84, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away, Saturday, October 23, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM at First Church of the Nazarene in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Eric Boomer and Rev. Steve Hood officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Phillips was born in Malone, FL on November 13, 1925 to the late Dawsie and Mary Grice Merritt. She was a homemaker, an active member of First Church of the Nazarene; she will also be remembered as working at Dismuke’s clothing store in Donalsonville. A special mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Shirley Farnsworth and her husband Jeff of Marietta, GA; Linda Whisenant of Plains, GA; three grandchildren, Pamela Dawn Bankson of Cullman, AL; Brian Harrell and his wife Rhonda of Donalsonville, GA; Brandon Harrell and his wife, Cara of Plains, GA; seven great grandchildren; Chloe Bankson, Benjamin Bankson, Grant Harrell, Lacey Harrell, Jacob Harrell, Andrew Harrell, Megan Harrell and Tyler Harrell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dawsie and Mary Grice Merritt and her husband, Odalee Phillips. Casketbearers will be Glen Deese, Scott Hartzog, Durall Pitts, Ronnie Adams, Edward Whittaker and Stevie Adams. Honorary casketbearers will be the men of First Church of the Nararene. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
