Lance Robinson

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Lance Robinson, age 33, of Iron City, GA who passed away Friday evening, Oct. 22, 2010 at his residence. A Fireman’s funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, GA with Rev. James Scarborough, Rev. Jimmy Dean, and Rev. Dennis Norman officiating. Interment will follow at the Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, Oct. 24, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Robinson was born Donalsonville, GA on July 31, 1977 to William Leslie and Cynthia Bush Robinson. He graduated from Seminole County High School in 1995, where he had served as the President and Chaplin of the Future Farmers of America and had been a member of the GA FFA Association. He worked with the Decatur County Fire and Rescue as a SR Fireman, was the Chief of the Iron City Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Georgia Fire Chief Association, and organized and was a charter member of the Georgia Fire Fighter Clown Society, in which his clown name was SLOW LEAK. Mr. Robinson was an EMT-Intermediate, a Rescue Specialist, a Hazmat Technician, a member of the Iron City Baptist Church, American Legion Post #265 of Ochlockonee, GA, and a past member of the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. Mr. Robinson leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rebecca Ann Robinson of Iron City, GA; his parents, Les and Cindy Robinson of Donalsonville, GA; his father and mother-in-law, Ronny and Sharon Herring of Ochlockonee, GA; his paternal grandmother, Sara Robinson of Iron City, GA; two daughters, Allison Ann Robinson and Mollie Marie Robinson of Iron City, GA; a brother, Chad Robinson and his wife Clara of Iron City, GA; a brother-in-law, Michael Herring and his wife Katie of Ochlockonee, GA; nieces and nephews, Austin Robinson, Brittney Robinson, and Wesley Herring; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William “Red” Robinson and his maternal grandparents, Walter and Edith Bush. Active casketbearers will be Kenny King, Tony Nix, Terrell Long, Shannan Dunaway, Steve Enfinger, and Billy Daniels. Honorary casketbeares will be all Emergency Service Personnel. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Allison and Mollie Robinson Educational Fund c/o Five Star Credit Union .
