We regret to announce the passing of Jan Johnson Hatcher, age 53, on October 6, 2010 who passed away at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Hatcher will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Jimmy Dean and Rev. Charles Barineau officiating. Burial will follow at the Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home on Friday, October 8, 2010. Mrs. Hatcher was born in Seminole County on January 20, 1957 to her late father, Heyward Johnson and her mother, Dorothy Eubanks Johnson. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and worked as an EMT and the Seminole County Health Department. She received the Melvin Jones Fello Award and was a member of the Lake Seminole Lions Club where she served as President. She was also Lion of the Year on two occasions. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Dorothy Eubanks Johnson of Donalsonville, GA, step-son, William Robbie “Doobie” Hatcher of Donalsonville, GA; a step-daughter-in-law, Tabitha Hatcher of Colquitt, GA; two step grandchildren, Morgan Hatcher and Will Hatcher. She is also survived by several aunt and uncle and numerous cousins, along with two beloved pets, Jillie and Coco. She was preceded in death by her father, Heyward Johnson; and her husband, William Robert Hatcher. Active casketbeares will be Terry Batchelor, Trent Harrison, Jimmy Rogers, Jimmy Anderson, Carlton E. “Buddy” Earnest, Jr., and Gerald Cainon. Honorary casktebeares will be members of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department, Donalsonville Fire Department, Seminole County EMS, Georgia State Patrol, C.J. Hodge and Frank Manley. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Lake Seminole Lions Club,7707 GA Hwy 374, Donalsonville, GA 39845. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
