We regret to announce the passing of Jerry White, age 66, of Dothan, AL and formerly of Donalsonville, GA who passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, August 30, 2010 was prayerfully surrounded by his family. Funeral services for Mr. White will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM EST) in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating with interment to follow in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. White was born in Bainbridge GA on October 31, 1943 to the late Woodrow Wilson White and Winifred Tucker White. He attended Seminole County High School and was a retired mechanic from Georgia-Pacific at Cedar Springs, GA after 35 years of dedicated service. He was one of the initial investors with PWC Message Center of Dothan AL that recently celebrated 25 years in business. He was also a member of the Dothan Elks Lodge 187, a 35 year member of UPIU local 1864 and an avid contributor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in hopes of a cure for childhood illnesses. He was known as a man of few words, but set a fine example of life that family and friends will cherish forever. Mr. White leaves to cherish his memory a son, Alan White; a daughter, Pennye Easom;two granddaughters, Hannah and Emily Easom; a very special companion of many years who stood firmly beside him and his family during his illness, Becky White; two sisters, Nira Jean Glisson and her husband Bill and Delores (Candy) Bevel and her husband Micky; a brother-in-law, Sonny Eubanks; and a special K9 friend, Derby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Winifred White; and two sisters, Janice Smith and Barbara Eubanks. Active pallbearers will be Marcell Sheffield, Claude Ceasar, Lynwood (Shag) Sheffield, Roger Lane, Harry Warren, and Fred Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the Paper Mill Brotherhood.
